CLAN KEITH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) - 2010

For: Clan Keith Society (CKS) USA AGM at Stone Mountain, GA October 16, 2010

Meeting was called to order by President James Keith.

Remaining spaces were announced for the evening dinner.

A brief tribute was given to the Founder and Director: George Newberry

Clan Chaplain Rev. John M. Keith announced the Flowers of the Forest for the past year and offered a special prayer of repose. He also announced his resignation from the position of Chaplain.

As less than 20% of the membership was present for the meeting, no voting on business was possible.

Treasurer’s report was given by Alton Cook and in summary both membership and game funding is down. Conveners were encouraged to reach out to new members.

No Secretary’s report was made as Alice Hattenbrun was not in attendance.

Proposed: the creation of a Membership Directory

As Editor James Keith reported that the Keith & Kin has grown to a twenty page newsletter and contains many photos. 

Alton Cooke reported the election results: President James Keith and Director Carol Faulkner were re-elected by unanimous vote.

Zachary and Paul Taylor gave the Youth Chapter Report: They would like to see more youth members join the Chapter.

Assistant Vice President Jonathon Austin gave a report about the conveners

Woody and Linda Williams, Jonathon Austin, Elizabeth Keith, and Vicie Motz gave detailed game reports.

Director Carol Faulkner Peck announced the winners for the Harvey Literary Prizes. (see Literary Prizes - Awards and Honors page)

Elizabeth Keith reported that there were no applications received for the Performing Arts Scholarship. The Kintore Academic Scholarship was awarded to Victoria Webster. (see Scholarship Awards - Awards and Honors page)

Elizabeth Keith announced that she will award a Clan Keith Banner to the convener with the most new members.

President James Keith awarded the A. J. Marshall Clansman of the Year medallion to Jonathon Austin (see Clansman of the Year - Awards and Honors page)

Alton Cooke announced the procedure for the fundraising auction.

President James Keith announced that Paul Keith has accepted the position as Clan Keith Society USA’s new Chaplin.

The 2010 AGM of CKSUSA was adjourned.
