Academic Scholarship Award
The Memorial Award

This year, this award is given in memory of William B. Keith, PhD, the founder of the scholarship awards for this society.

The Clan Keith Society USA, Inc. Academic Award is given in recognition of academic achievement and interest in Scottish heritage. It seeks to promote academic excellence and pride in our Scottish heritage among the children and grandchildren of current Clan Keith Society USA members. The Academic Scholarship Award is a $350.00 unrestricted cash award. Any child or grandchild, of a current Society member or current member between the ages of 15 - 25 is encouraged to apply.

A three member team will select a winner from all applicants based on the current academic records and upon their interest and knowledge of their Scottish Heritage as demonstrated by a brief (1 - 2 typed pages) written essay. The essay may address any aspect of personal family, Clan Keith or Sept history as it relates to Scotland, past or present. The Clan Keith Society USA, Inc. will have the right to use all submitted essays for non-commercial purposes. The data included in the application (page 2 of this announcement) will complete the evaluation criteria. It is given in recognition of your current accomplishments and interests.

To be considered in the competition, completed applications along with one letter of recommendation from your school must be mailed to the address below by August 1, 2008. Winners will be notified as soon as possible after the judging. Academic records and other personal data will be kept in confidence by the judges. Completed applications should be mailed to:
